The Jesus Lizard have released a new single called ‘Falling Down’, a track that forms part of their new studio album, ‘Rack‘ – their first in 26 years – and which will be released on September 13 via Ipecac Recordings.
The track is accompanied by an animated video created by celebrated illustrator Bill Barminski. “I met Bill in Austin in the mid-80s. He was doing underground comics and stuff like that,” says Duane Denison of his friendship with the innovative artist known for his distinctive sculptures and thought-provoking street art. “We met through mutual friends in the punk rock scene and recently reconnected through social media.”
Barminski adds: “We all come from the same place and there seems to be a bond between the people who were there. So when Duane asked me to do this video, I naturally said yes. It’s a hand-drawn cell animation that I’ve been experimenting with. It’s very kinetic and fast-paced, which pairs really well with the song.”
