The British Sylosis released a video for the track 'Absent' taken from their most recent album, A Sign Of Things To Come which was released last year through Nuclear Blast.
“Although we have always included darker, quieter songs in our discography, ‘Absent’ represents uncharted territory for Sylosis, as we remain true to our commitment to melody and emotion in our music. The video is also a departure from our usual style and we are grateful for director Daniel Gray's efforts in creating something outside of our comfort zone. We're excited to have invited our new friends, Zetra, to bring a fresh perspective to the track with their reimagined remix. Its dark synth influence really adds a new dimension to the song, which we love!“ says Josh Middleton
“This is a more personal song and I wanted to challenge myself to try a different direction with the lyrics, as well as with the music video. The song is about being so absorbed in your own problems that you neglect to see or appreciate that other people around you may be suffering or may be in a much worse situation than you.”
Along with the new music video, the band also revealed a remix of the track by their enigmatic labelmates Zetra. Their reinterpretation of the song highlights the industrial elements of the original version, creating an intense and energetic performance. You can listen to it here.
