The National Institute of Anthropology and History, through the Sound Library and the Postgraduate in Social Anthropology of the ENAH and the Institute of Anthropological Research of the UNAM invite you to the permanent seminar of studies on Heavy Metal, 2018: The sound expression of a culture.
Admission to the seminar is free at the National Museum of World Cultures (Currency 13, Historic Center of Mexico City) and has a schedule from 5 to 8 PM on the following dates:

June: Linguistic Study of the Metal Vocabulary of CDMX, Ea-Ilse Valverde, Linguistics; Body, sublimation and violence. The dance of the slam, Alfredo Nieves, Ethnomusicology.
July: Documentary “Todo es Metal”, by Angela Boatwright; Transmetal group testimonials.
August: Fanzines conference by Víctor Sánchez, fanzines specialist; Cartography of heavy metal in Mexico, Raúl Santos.
September: Pre-Hispanic Metal, by Karla Sánchez, ethnomusicology; round table: death metal in Mexico, Óscar Clorio and guests.
October: History of death metal, Raúl Torres, Campo Historia. Another exhibition to be confirmed.
November: Studies of the metal scene in the Caribbean, and documentary "Metal Islands", by Nelson Varas-Díaz.
In October we will carry out a special program with the Phono-Cinema festival, a selection of documentary and fiction films with talks about the films, to be held at the Digital Culture Center.
