With great success and in a civic center in Ecatepec, the festival of the 10 greats of rock in its 2017 version was held, which since it announced the TRI As a poster, it generated great expectations, which made the day of the event to be full without caring that much of the afternoon the access roads leading to San Cristóbal were hanged by political demonstrations, which hindered the arrival of musicians and attendees alike.
Luzbel and Mara begin the afternoon of urban rock in the place, which still does not shine in its splendor in terms of assistance is concerned by the aforementioned road problems. Fans present or latecomers complain that as a band from Luzbel's career they played so early but the truth is that with so much legendary band it would have been very difficult to convince the public when prioritizing hierarchies.
By the time Interpuesto takes the stage, the support can be much more nourished. The truth is that the band born in Cuautitlán captivates the entire audience from the beginning, interpreting hymns such as the cover of Mocedades with "Who will sing to you?", "If you were here", "I will return" and "Keep on hurting", for later read the content of the letter in the “One Minute Story”. The band leaves between applause and of course, whistles for the bassist Carla Soriano who showed simplicity by going down to take photos with as many fans as requested.
It is the turn of SAM SAM and they know their business and perfection: With a mix between rock and blues and legendary songs such as “Amor ajeno”, the Naucalpenses continue to give a foothold in the world of urban rock to the good pleasure of the good Serafín Espinal who From heaven, he surely continues to give his vibe to these rockers at heart.
The event runs smoothly and well organized. With its giant screen projecting the logo of each band and a good sound, in addition to applauding things such as placing fans in wheelchairs upstairs next to the stage for your comfort, and so that your favorite artists can greet them as they pass.
Punk also has its place in the celebration, and was represented by 2 enormous proposals: Acidez arrived from Guadalajara, one of the bands with the most power and punk attitude today and who with an explosive and young attitude refreshed the night by putting together a huge slam circle in the center of the forum. Topics such as "My hatred and my rage" or "Road to hell" brought out the most aggressive lovers of robes and stray hairs.
The symphonic metal then claims its place in the festival, and the shadows of the night cover Ecatepec with the Anabanta spell. “Nocturna” opens the way and reveals Duan Marie's haunting voice, who then invites us to “close our eyes” and let ourselves be carried away by her magic. "It's you", "Vampire" and the closing with "Melody of the night" finish Anabanta's presentation, which despite being very applauded, I consider it was a mistake to place it after the punk download of Acidity, because under the spirits of the people already full of adrenaline and he even made many punks start with crackles towards the gothic band.
And if we talk about punk legends, what better than to talk about the Punk Syndrome, that from the hand of the irreverent old Francisco Amaya unleashed the folly of people from the beginning with "Punk Suicida", so that later punks would not stop spinning around and beat to the rhythm of "Pelones", "Los nuevos gavilanes" and "Anarchism". Between albures and mentions, the self-proclaimed “Santísima verga” left the place to dust, devastating it with “Maquinas de guerra” and giving a brutal closing with “A mi manera”.
In a family rock environment, where wives and children are safe and enjoy their favorite artists, the band Bostik makes an appearance. “El guadaña” is a true frontman and his presence alone is enough to bring order and make all the people dance. "Dejala ser", "Viajero" and the song that is not forgotten "Tlatelolco" are just some songs that the natives of Tlanepantla give us, reminding us of their status as rock icons.
And if we talk about rock icons, it's time to receive another heavyweight from the hand of Antonio Lira and his Liran Roll. The capitals are an institution on the scene and are applauded from start to finish. Each saxophone solo, each riff of his rough string player and each letter of Toño's voice are celebrated by urban and blues lovers, with “María” as the maximum ecstasy of this presentation.
On stage people start to mobilize and change the musical equipment, and a security device made up of the private security of the "hawks" lets us know that the star band is going to make their arrival. Alex Lora's TRI is in the house and to the rhythm of “Black and Stray Dog” it makes everyone bark regardless of whether they have no home, female or money. From Ecatepec we took the orange train to the "Metro balderas" and the success followed never stops for a minute. The political satire will always be present and in current affairs for Alex Lora, who shouts "Chingue to his mother Donald Trump" makes people squeak when he sees the head of the blond magnate in his hand.
Lora sends her mother to something or someone so many times that if we took a shot of mezcal for every time she does it, we would end up in a coma. He sends Peña Nieto to fuck his mother, and then he tells us that “Peña Nieto is an asshole, yes, but he is OUR asshole. If Maduro or Trump want to fuck him, fuck his mother. We can, but they cannot, or they earn it by paying taxes like we do. ” He also has a very human gesture when he gives him the shirt that he is wearing to a boy with a disability who looks at him from the sidelines, who the next moment sends the shit out to the “rogue women who stayed scratching the papaya instead of coming to the Show".
Without a shirt and with a black mask with the symbol of the middle finger in red, Alex Lora continues his presentation with songs like "Everything goes wrong", "ADO" and "Pamela"; to then invite his tamer Chela Lora to the stage and perform “Contigo me conformo”, and then give us what for those who write is the most sublime and profound moment of the TRI presentations with the “Blues de las calles rodantes” and without giving us chance to recover to give us that "Sad love song".
The TRI is about to retire and Lora, on the verge of tears, pays tribute to Carlos Canales, who was his promoter in Tezas for many years and died in an accident these days, with the dedication of "When you are not there." Asking over and over again if we are happy and crying out for rock and roll to live, TRI says goodbye with "Chavo de onda".
Prior to leaving, Lora announces that Tex Tex will close the event. One would think that many people were going to leave after having seen the TRI being also late and not: Many people are waiting for "the dolls" attesting to their status as one of the most important bands in national rock. Dressed in white jackets and hats, the Tex make people dance with great power and good rock to the rhythm of songs such as "Now that you don't live with me", "The spirit of rock", "The magic touch" and of course "You told me "
Definitely a night to remember and honor the great rock bands. With an excellent production and organization, although we were left wanting to see bands already announced in the cartel such as Garrobos, Los Dug dugs etc. For the rest, without a doubt as far as urban rock is concerned this has been the event of the year.
