The German band have confirmed the first complete details surrounding the long-awaited concert film shot across their three sold-out shows at Foro Sol in Mexico City, finally putting a release date on a project fans have been waiting for since 2022.

Tickets for theatrical screenings will become available on September 23. The band have also made one important distinction clear: this is not a live stream, but a fully produced concert film assembled from the three professionally recorded Mexico City performances. Compatible cinemas will present the film in 4K and Dolby Atmos.

Directed by Paul Dugdale, a four-time Grammy nominee and two-time Primetime Emmy winner, the film was built from Rammstein's performances on October 1, 2 and 4, 2022 at the former Foro Sol — now Estadio GNP Seguros. Each concert drew approximately 65,000 people, making the three-night residency one of the largest moments in the long relationship between Rammstein and their Mexican audience.

The shows themselves had taken an unusually long road to the stage. The first Mexico dates from that touring cycle had originally been scheduled for 2020 and endured multiple pandemic-related postponements before finally taking place in 2022. Demand eventually resulted in a third night being added, turning Mexico City into the closing stop of that year's North American leg.

Rammstein: Live in Mexico City will feature 20 songs spanning different periods of the band's career, including “Du hast,” “Sonne” and “Ich will.” One element particularly connected to its location will be the finale, “Te Quiero Puta!”, the Rosenrot track that has maintained a special relationship with Spanish-speaking audiences since its 2005 release.

The film will also document the technical scale of the World Stadium Tour, a production created specifically for venues of this size. The enormous industrial stage structure, pyrotechnics and columns of fire reaching approximately 20 meters into the air will all form part of a movie capturing one of the largest touring productions in modern heavy music.

The Mexico City project belongs to an even larger chapter in the band's history. Rammstein's stadium run began in 2019 and, following the interruption caused by the pandemic, continued through 2024. Across five years, the band performed 135 concerts for approximately six million fans, taking the production across Europe and North America.

Mexico, however, occupied a particular place within that history. Rammstein have built a close relationship with the country over several decades, from their earliest appearances in the 1990s through later festival, arena and stadium performances. Choosing Mexico City as the location for one of the major audiovisual documents of their career now places those 2022 concerts within the band's official recorded legacy rather than only in the memories of those who attended.

Dugdale was tasked with translating that scale to the screen. The British filmmaker has extensive experience directing large concert productions and has worked with artists including The Rolling Stones, Adele and Coldplay. Here, the challenge was to condense three nights in front of tens of thousands of people into a single cinematic experience.

The release also arrives nearly a decade after Rammstein: Paris, the band's previous major concert feature, released in 2017 and directed by Jonas Åkerlund. Live in Mexico City captures a very different era: Rammstein operating inside stadiums with a production designed to function on a dramatically larger scale.

Rammstein: Live in Mexico City opens in cinemas worldwide on November 4, 2026, with tickets going on sale September 23. Multiple physical formats are also planned, with complete details still to be announced.

Ya es oficial: Rammstein: Live in Mexico City se estrenará mundialmente en cines el próximo 4 de noviembre de 2026.
