The event marks the fourth edition of the masterclass series organized by Flores Drum & Percussion Lessons and arrives at a particularly significant point in Nekrutman\u2019s career. The American musician currently performs with Sepultura alongside Andreas Kisser, Derrick Green and Paulo Jr. during the Brazilian metal veterans\u2019 final chapter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nekrutman officially joined Sepultura in 2024, when he was recruited to replace Eloy Casagrande for the Celebrating Life Through Death farewell tour. Before joining the Brazilian band, he had performed with Suicidal Tendencies, though his musical identity had developed much earlier through extensive training in jazz and big-band drumming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That background remains one of the defining elements of his playing. Nekrutman began studying drums as a child and built a vocabulary heavily informed by historic jazz drummers before applying that foundation to considerably heavier settings.
