As I Lay Dying have completed recording their ninth studio album, tentatively expected in early 2027 through Napalm Records. The band recorded 12 songs with the intention of keeping ten for the final record, and they are now bringing fans into part of that selection process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On September 15, As I Lay Dying will release two of those tracks, \u201cPolarized\u201d and \u201cRetribution,\u201d before opening a fan vote on whether both should make the finished album. Tim Lambesis said the pair were deliberately chosen because they represent opposite ends of the record\u2019s musical spectrum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPolarized\u201d is described as more melodic and mid-tempo, with additional clean singing while remaining heavy and driving. \u201cRetribution\u201d heads in the opposite direction: fast, dark and heavy, with no clean vocals at all. According to Lambesis, most of the remaining material falls somewhere between those two approaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The record will follow Through Storms Ahead, released in November 2024 and officially billed by Napalm Records as As I Lay Dying\u2019s eighth full-length. The band also released the newer singles \u201cEchoes\u201d and \u201cIf I Fall\u201d in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
