The music for \u201cEight Legs of Thunder\u201d was written by guitarist Johan S\u00f6derberg. Its galloping rhythm led the band toward Sleipnir before Johan Hegg developed the lyrics and retained the composition\u2019s working title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Across its four-minute-and-twenty-second running time, the song follows Oden and his steed toward V\u00edgr\u00ed\u00f0r, the field where the battle of Ragnar\u00f6k will take place. The lyrics describe the arrival of darkness, the charge of the Einherjar, Yggdrasil burning and the fate awaiting the Allfather against Fenrir.
