One of the most iconic guitars in KISS history has officially changed hands. The legendary 1975 Gibson Les Paul played by Ace Frehley throughout much of his career sold for $512,000 during the latest edition of Music Icons, the renowned rock memorabilia auction organized by Julien's Auctions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The instrument was one of the most anticipated lots featured during the event, which took place on May 29 and May 30 at the Hard Rock Cafe Times Square in New York City. The final selling price landed comfortably within the estimated range of $400,000 to $600,000 projected before the auction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The guitar occupies a special place in rock history. For decades, it served as one of Frehley's primary instruments and became closely associated with his signature playing style. His connection to the instrument has helped secure his place on countless lists ranking the greatest Les Paul players of all time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Several additional Frehley-owned items also exceeded expectations during the auction. A 1997 Gibson Signature Les Paul Custom used during the band's reunion era sold for $57,600, while a stage-played 1996 Sanchez Custom Gibson Les Paul Jr. from the KISS reunion tour achieved the same price.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among the clothing items offered, a jacket worn during the 1977 Rock and Roll Over Tour sold for $8,960, while a stage-worn Destroyer-era costume brought in $51,200. An Ace Frehley\/Arthur Kane stage-worn jumpsuit also found a buyer for $11,520.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Music Icons auctions have become a major destination for collectors seeking authentic pieces of rock history.
