The HU continue pushing the boundaries of Mongolian folk metal with the official announcement of their upcoming studio album HUN and the release of \u201cLost Soul\u201d, a brand-new collaboration featuring Nothing More frontman Jonny Hawkins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Released on May 20, the track represents one of the band\u2019s most ambitious and accessible offerings yet, combining THE HU\u2019s traditional sonic identity with modern hard rock influences, tribal rhythms and arena-ready intensity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLost Soul\u201d opens with a hypnotic rhythmic pulse before Jonny Hawkins enters with his powerful melodic vocals. Moments later, the track erupts into crushing guitars, tribal percussion and the signature Mongolian throat singing that has transformed THE HU into one of modern metal\u2019s most distinctive acts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the band, the song aims to deliver messages centered around resilience, personal strength and the ability to confront life\u2019s obstacles without losing identity or values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Vocalist and morin khuur player Galaa explained: \u201cTo not lose yourself on your life journey, to keep your values and have the courage to face obstacles are messages we want to send through \u2018Lost Soul\u2019 and the upcoming album.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, Jonny Hawkins expressed his excitement about the collaboration: \u201cI\u2019m incredibly excited to work with a band as committed to their craft as THE HU. It\u2019s unlike anything I\u2019ve ever done before.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new album HUN arrives on July 24 through Better Noise Music and will mark the band\u2019s first full-length release since 2022\u2019s Rumble of Thunder, the record that further solidified THE HU\u2019s growing global impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Alongside \u201cLost Soul,\u201d the album also includes previously released tracks such as \u201cThe Real You\u201d, \u201cThe Men\u201d and \u201cWarrior Chant.\u201d However, the Jonny Hawkins version of \u201cLost Soul\u201d will only appear on the digital edition of the album.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since their international breakthrough with songs like \u201cWolf Totem\u201d and \u201cYuve Yuve Yu,\u201d THE HU quickly became one of modern metal\u2019s most innovative and recognizable acts thanks to their fusion of traditional Mongolian instrumentation, throat singing and contemporary heavy metal structures.
