Norwegian band Dimmu Borgir have officially announced their new studio album Grand Serpent Rising, set for release on May 22, 2026 via Nuclear Blast Records, marking their return with new material.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The band recorded the album in Gothenburg alongside producer Fredrik Nordstr\u00f6m, known for his work on key releases such as Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia and Death Cult Armageddon. The new record maintains the band\u2019s symphonic foundation while leaning into a more direct and intense sonic approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a preview, the band has released the single \u201cAscent\u201d, which highlights the album\u2019s more aggressive side. According to Shagrath, the track is more straightforward than the first single and represents part of the album\u2019s broader range.
