Former HIM vocalist Ville Valo has reignited speculation about a potential reunion, stating that he would be open to playing with his former bandmates again despite the group\u2019s inactivity since 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a recent interview, Valo said he \u201cwould love to play with the lads again someday,\u201d adding that while he hasn\u2019t been in close contact with them, he still misses them and considers them \u201chis brothers.\u201d HIM played their final show on December 31, 2017, at the Tavastia Club in Helsinki, closing a career spanning more than two decades. According to Valo, the split was not driven by conflict but by a gradual drift, noting that \u201cthe bittersweet thing was that we were still good friends, we\u2019d just grown apart.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also reflected positively on how the band ended, saying there was \u201cbeauty in the fact we didn\u2019t strangle each other or start travelling in separate limos,\u201d and added that at the time it felt like \u201cthe right way to bury the corpse,\u201d emphasizing that HIM \u201cwas and is his life\u201d and that letting go \u201cwas very hard.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Formed in 1991, HIM became one of Finland\u2019s most successful rock exports. Their album Razorblade Romance (2000) marked a breakthrough internationally, while releases from Greatest Lovesongs Vol. 666 (1997) through Dark Light (2005) achieved multiple platinum certifications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following the band\u2019s split, Valo launched his solo project VV, releasing Neon Noir in 2023 and concluding the project in 2024 with a performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
