Shock rock pioneer Alice Cooper has announced the release of his definitive autobiography Devil On My Shoulder, set to arrive on October 8, 2026 via Ebury Publishing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The long-awaited memoir promises to finally reveal the full story behind one of the most legendary careers in rock music. Spanning more than sixty years of rock history, Cooper reflects on the creation of his iconic stage persona and the life that unfolded behind the theatrical character.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To support the book\u2019s release, Cooper will embark on an eight-date speaking tour across the United Kingdom, where each evening will feature the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee in conversation with a guest moderator followed by an audience Q&A session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the memoir, Cooper explores the striking contrast between his infamous stage persona and the man behind it \u2014 Vincent Damon Furnier, the pastor\u2019s son who created one of rock\u2019s most controversial and theatrical characters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reflecting on that duality, Cooper said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAlice is still on tour around the world today, a proper senile delinquent playing hundreds of gigs every year, while I myself am reformed. And with the benefit of hindsight and a certain maturity, I'd like to describe our journey to Hell and back together, because it's not only rock stars who can lose their way.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The book also addresses the moment when Furnier officially embraced his alter ego:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI was born Vincent Damon Furnier but, seduced by my character's reputation, changed my name legally to Alice Cooper, and in the process lost sight of who I really was. The mild-mannered, all-American boy I'd once been became a monster and a mortal danger to himself.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Over the course of his career, Cooper has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide and released a catalogue of classic records, including \u201cSchool\u2019s Out,\u201d \u201cNo More Mr. Nice Guy,\u201d and \u201cPoison.\u201d His legacy was cemented with his induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The artist has also appeared in numerous films, television programs and collaborations with other musicians, becoming deeply embedded in generations of popular culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reflecting on the memoir, Cooper added:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
