Reflecting on their final run of shows, Patton admitted: \u201cI didn't really think so at the time, but, yeah, maybe.\u201d He added that the band may have collectively felt it was the end without explicitly saying so: \u201cAnd I think that we all kind of felt it, but it was unspoken.\u201d He emphasized that he doesn\u2019t see that as tragic, explaining: \u201cI don't see it as a sad thing. I see it as being present and being able to really appreciate it while it's happening.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Patton also rejected the concept of \u201cside projects,\u201d stating: \u201cI'd never really understood\u2026 the concept of a side project, that's assuming that there's a main one.\u201d He continued, \u201cEverything that I've done was of equal importance to me. They just weren't viewed that way.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Keyboardist Roddy Bottum has been more direct about the band\u2019s status, saying: \u201cIt's not just me. I don't think anyone's sort of up for it at this point\u2026\u201d and concluding bluntly, \u201cI just don't see it happening again, honestly.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Drummer Mike Bordin recalled the 2021 cancellation, explaining: \u201cWe were ready, we were prepared\u2026 our guy doesn't show for the rehearsal.\u201d He added that the band chose support over pressure: \u201cWe made the decision that, \u2018Look, we've gotta support our guy.\u2019\u201d Bordin later stated: \u201cI can't force him to do something that he\u2026 doesn't seem to wanna do.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bassist Billy Gould summarized the situation candidly: \u201cI don't know. I honestly don't know\u2026 Right now we're in a really weird spot.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
