Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland has spoken again following backlash sparked by his comments directed at supporters of former U.S. president Donald Trump. Rather than backing down, Borland expanded on his position and spoke even more directly about his personal and political values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Borland, the criticism he received largely stemmed from his firm rejection of hatred, intolerance, and political polarization \u2014 something he believes was reflected in the intensity of the reactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cY\u2019all hating me for not wanting hatred in the world is wild,\u201d Borland said, questioning the logic behind the attacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a longer statement, the guitarist left little room for interpretation:\n\u201cI guess if you\u2019re mad at me say whatever you want to here. I just want everyone to be happy. Fuck Trump. Fuck ICE. Democrats are without leadership except Bernie. Love AOC. So call me a Libtard here. Hail Satan. Borland emphasized that he does not hate anyone and that his intent is not to attack individuals, but to reject ideologies he sees as harmful. He reiterated that Limp Bizkit does not and will not represent narratives rooted in exclusion, authoritarianism, or violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI don\u2019t want anyone to suffer. I don\u2019t want anyone to be marginalized. If that bothers you, then I\u2019m not the problem,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The guitarist also made it clear that he will not dilute his beliefs to maintain popularity:\n\u201cIf I lose fans because I say I don\u2019t want hatred, racism, or violence in the world, I\u2019m completely fine with that.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
