The Canadians Spiritbox<\/strong> are preparing a new studio album, which will be available at some point in 2024, according to their singer Courtney LaPlante<\/strong> who recently spoke with Revolver Magazine<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After releasing an EP during 2023 and earning a Grammy nomination, the band is now ready to release new music next year. \u201cI really want to make new music. That's what's been missing for most of this year. Because we have our new EP, but we did it at the beginning of the year. So it seems like it\u2019s time to incubate something new,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the possibility of releasing a new full album. \u201cYeah. We gotta do it. We've been... not holding off, but it's been really nice to have the instant gratification of putting out music when we're actually done with it versus creating it and then sitting on it and doing a traditional cycle.\n\nBut honestly, we want to prove it to ourselves that we can do another album and it's gonna go well. I thought that having some sort of success in the first one would make me feel like I've proved it to myself.\n\nBut in fact it's just made us even more driven and on-edge. Like, we don't feel comfortable at all. We're like, \"We gotta prove ourselves again.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She also spoke about the musical direction that his new work should have: \u201cI definitely don't really know. But I do think that whatever it is will feel very flexible. We wanted to prove that we could edit our songs down to letting the songs speak for themselves, and not have the band overplaying and stumbling all over the songs.\n\nIt's just hard for a bunch of really good, talented musicians to show restraint sometimes. But I like a little bit of restraint so the whole song feels like a full song, not just listening to someone showing off for five minutes.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But what I'm missing from us that I really want to explore a little bit, I think, is... I feel very comfy in \"progressive\" music.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n
