La banda alemana Xandria<\/strong>, estuvo de visita en nuestro pais hace apenas unos dias, por lo que SUMMA Inferno<\/strong> aprovech\u00f3 la ocasi\u00f3n para tener una pl\u00e1tica con el guitarrista de la banda, Philip Restemeir<\/strong> sobre su opini\u00f3n de M\u00e9xico y el lanzamiento de su nuevo \u00e1lbum de estudio, “Sacrificium”.<\/p>\n

Bueno, est\u00e1n de regreso en M\u00e9xico, al Multiforo Alicia, con una nueva cantante y un nuevo \u00e1lbum pr\u00f3ximo a salir…<\/strong><\/p>\n

Muchas cosas han cambiado desde nuestro primera -y \u00fanica- visita en 2006, esta vez es nuestro primer show en M\u00e9xico como cabeza de cartel, la impresi\u00f3n es todav\u00eda m\u00e1s grande. Nos sentimos muy confiados con nuestra alineaci\u00f3n actual, la pasada no siempre era f\u00e1cil y divertida, pero hoy en dia ser\u00e1 mucho m\u00e1s divertido que nunca viajar con la pandilla. Y pues si, despu\u00e9s de nuestra visita a M\u00e9xico tendremos que regresar a terminar el trabajo de nuestro nuevo disco “Sacrificium”<\/em> que ser\u00e1 lanzado en Mayo.<\/p>\n

Han definido a Dianne, -su nueva vocalista- como una “gloria del talento holand\u00e9s”, \u00bfha tenido problemas para adaptarse al estilo de la banda, sobre todo con el material viejo?<\/strong><\/p>\n

No podr\u00eda hablar de problemas, cuando tienes la oportunidad de trabajar con alguien que es tan flexible y est\u00e1 dispuesta a todo por el bien de la banda.
\nPor supuesto, tienes que conocer a los dem\u00e1s y no todo encaja perfectamente en un inicio. Pero ella es muy talentosa y tiene un ancho repertorio en su variedad vocal. Estuve muy impresionado no solo por su voz, sino por su capacidad para trabajar duro y desde distintos enfoques.<\/p>\n

Mira, si te gust\u00f3\u00a0“Neverworld’s End” <\/em>seguro te gustar\u00e1 “Sacrificium”.\u00a0<\/em>Creemos que nos las arreglamos para llevar nuestra idea de metal sinf\u00f3nico todav\u00eda un paso mas adelante. El aspecto mel\u00f3dico sigue siendo muy fuerte, el sonido \u00e9pico y sinf\u00f3nico crea una enorme sensaci\u00f3n cinematogr\u00e1fica y hay todav\u00eda mas partes que nos es divertido tocar como m\u00fasicos \u00a0y como metaleros.<\/p>\n

Pero, \u00bfPodremos encontrar ese “Sonido Xandria” que ya reconocemos, en este nuevo disco?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Yo creo que la mayor\u00eda de las personas ya lo saben, que con nuestro \u00faltimo disco, redefinimos nuestro sonido.
\nComo ya dije, nos enfocamos en los fuertes elementos mel\u00f3dicos que tu conoces en Xandria desde los inicios. Pero ahora a\u00f1adimos mas elementos sinf\u00f3nicos y cinem\u00e1ticos, adem\u00e1s que nos volcamos m\u00e1s hacia el metal.
\nEstamos realmente felices con esto y sentismos que todav\u00eda nos falta mucho por descubrir.<\/p>\n

Los cambios de vocalista, \u00bfhan ayudado a definir la evoluci\u00f3n en el estilo musical de Xandria?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bueno, para nosotros los cambios en la alineaci\u00f3n siempre nos parecian un retroceso. Es tan frustrante cuando algo que haz construido a lo largo de los a\u00f1os, simplemente se acaba y entonces tienes que volver a comenzar y convencer a la gente de nuevo de que somos una buena banda y que todo sigue encajando.
\nYo estoy muy feliz con la alineaci\u00f3n actual. Musicalmente y a nivel personal. As\u00ed que, al final, somos muy afortunados despu\u00e9s de todo. Y esto nos ha ayudado a mostrar que somos una banda que puede sobreponerse a los tiempos duros en la industria.<\/p>\n

Antes de su visita a M\u00e9xico, se embarcaron en el 7000Tons of Metal. \u00a1Suena divertido! \u00bfEs tan divertido como suena?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a1Demonios, si! Desde que el barco parti\u00f3 de Miami hacia Costa Maya y de regreso, ya nos veiamos en M\u00e9xico desde el crucero. Un lugar hermoso, con maravillosas playas y una historia impresionante.
\nEl festival por si mismo es uno en su especie, de muchas maneras. Amo la idea, de mezclar a los artistas y los fans y relajarse juntos. No creo que los artistas deban tener miedo de esto. Nadie es molesto o un acosador. Tal vez funciona porque ves a los artistas en el festival actuando como gente normal y no como en un bar o en el show. Te sientes confiado tratando con ellos como gente normal. Y eso es lo que mas me gusta. A nadie le gusta conversar con alguien que te trata distinto a un humano. Por lo menos, no a mi…<\/p>\n

M\u00e9xico parece amar la m\u00fasica alemana. Y los m\u00fasicos alemanes parecen amar a sus fans mexicanos…\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Los fans mexicanos son simplemente fant\u00e1sticos haciendote sentir bienvenido como banda. Siempre quieren fiesta y saben muy bien como hacerla. Y sobre el otro lado… Hay muchisima buena m\u00fasica en Alemania… Tal vez los m\u00fasicos alemanes est\u00e1n haciendo crecer su buena reputaci\u00f3n… lo cual no es lo peor por lo que un pais puede ser famoso.
\nPero obviamente, el pais de origen no te da un sello de calidad, per se.<\/p>\n

\u00bfY t\u00fa que opinas de sus fans mexicanos? Porque sus fans parecen quererlos bastante…<\/strong><\/p>\n

Siempre nos la pasamos muy bien. Ustedes son el tipo de audiencia a la que amo m\u00e1s, entusiasta y sin miedo de hablar conmigo de una manera normal.<\/p>\n

Finalmente, \u00bfQuieres mandarles un mensaje?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a1Los amamos tambi\u00e9n! \u00a1Sigan siendo como son! \u00a1Asombrosos! Y est\u00e9n atentos a nuestro nuevo disco, “Sacrificium” para volver a M\u00e9xico a finales de este mismo a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n

You’re coming back to Mexico to Multiforo Alicia, with a new singer and a new upcoming album…<\/strong><\/p>\n

Many things have changed since our first -and only- visit in 2006 and since the gig on this trip was our first headlining show,
\nthis impression was even stronger. We feel very confident with the current line-up, the past wasn\u00b4t always easy and funny.
\nbut nowadays its probably more fun than ever to travel with the gang!. After the Mexico-trip we go straight back to
\ndo the final work on the new record\u00a0“Sacrificium”<\/em>\u00a0that will be released in May.<\/p>\n

You define Dianne’s voice like a glorious Dutch talent, did she had problems to adapt to the band style, overall the old songs?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I would not speak of problems, when you have the chance to work with somebody who is that flexible and willing to give the best\u00a0for the band. Of course you have to get to know each other and not everything fits perfectly from the very beginning.
\nBut she is very talented and has a broad variety of vocal sounds. I was very impressed not only by her vocals but also her ability to work\u00a0hard and trying out different approaches.<\/p>\n

So, your upcoming album is named “Sacrificium”. Follows the same line than your previous releases?<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you liked\u00a0“Neverworld’s End”<\/em>\u00a0you will also like\u00a0“Sacrificium”<\/em>. We feel like we managed to take our idea of symphonic metal evenone step further. The melodic aspect is still very strong, the epic symphonic sounds create a huge cinematic atmosphere and there\u00a0are even more parts that are fun for us to play as musicians and metalheads!<\/p>\n

Will we find that\u00a0“Xandria sound”<\/em>\u00a0that all we know in this new album?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I think most people already know that, in certain ways, we redefined Xandria with our last record.
\nLike I said, we kept focussing on strong melodic elements\u00a0 that you know from xandria from the very beginning.
\nBut added more symphonic and moviescore-like elements and turned more towards metal.
\nWe are really happy with this and feel like there is still a lot for us to discover…<\/p>\n

This singer changes, help to define a musical and stylish evolution in the band?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Well, for us the line-up changes always were a throwback at first. It’s just so frustrating when\u00a0a thing you build up over the last years is torn apart and you have to start over and convince\u00a0people again that you are a good band and the pieces fit together.
\nLike I said before, I am very happy with the current line-up. Musically and also on a personal level.\u00a0So, in the end, maybe we were lucky after all. And it definitely helps us to show, that we are a band\u00a0that can also endure the harder times and situations in the music business.<\/p>\n

Before your visit to our country you will trip 7000 tons of Metal ship. Sounds fun! Is so fun like it sounds?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hell yeah! Since the ship went from Miami to Costa Maya and back, we got to see Mexico already during the cruise.
\nA beautiful place with lovely beaches and an impressive history.
\nThe festival itself is one-of-a-kind in so many ways. I love the idea of fans and artists\u00a0mixing in the festival crowd and it is really relaxed. I think no artist should be afraid of this. Nobody was annoying or stalking.\u00a0Maybe it works because when you see artists at a festival acting like normal persons at a bar or a show,\u00a0you feel confident in treating them like normal persons.
\nAnd this is what we like. Nobody wants to have a conversation with somebody who treats you like you are a different human being.\u00a0At least not me…<\/p>\n

M\u00e9xico seems to love German music. German musicians seems to love Mexican fans, why?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Mexican crowd is just fantastic in making you feel welcome as a band. They want to party and definitely know\u00a0how to do it. And concerning the other way around… there’s a lot of good music from Germany…maybe German musicians build up a reputation… not the worst thing a country can be famous for.
\nBut of course everybody knows, that the country of origin is not a sign of quality per se.<\/p>\n

What’s your opinion about your Mexican crowd? Cause your Mexican fans loves you, really much.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We had a great time. This the kind of crowd i love the most. Enthusiastic and not too afraid to talk to us in a normal way.<\/p>\n

We love you, too! Stay the way you are! Keep being awesome!… And look out for our album “Sacrificium” to hit Mexico later this year.<\/p>\n
